Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be broadcast in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "overpower" the American as the pair confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.
Former two-time unified title holder Joshua meets YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Boxer's Mindset
"I'm going to damage his features and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's a fighter's mentality.
"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite those words, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead attacked ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is better than Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua said.
"I respect him for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite declaring he will punish Paul, Anthony Joshua chose not to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he stated.
Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the television network - has mostly fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since becoming pro.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of the sport's greatest financial successes, consistently making massive earnings.
Forecast and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the long-awaited Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul stated.
Size Difference
As Joshua and Paul participated in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the fight is really happening.
