Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been earned on hardcourt
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his initial championship for nearly 30 months with victory over Corentin Moutet in the competition title decider.
The athlete, a former top-ranked player, has endured a difficult period, achieving just one win at the big events and suffering a difficult moment at the American major.
His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his serving in especial - caused him falling of the elite rankings and eventually separating with long-term coach Gilles Cervara.
Currently working with his coach and his other coach, he has steadily progressed in the last few weeks - culminating in a tightly fought three-set win over opponent Moutet.
It is Medvedev's first championship after the Italian tournament and first on a hard court from spring of 2023.
The win also indicates he has won twenty-one titles at 21 various competitions.
"It's the first time I'm at a tournament with my two daughters at once, so to win a trophy is especially meaningful," stated ranked player Daniil Medvedev.
"This victory is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my older daughter Alisa was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the past champion, had failed in his previous six championship matches, featuring in that event in the past months.
His retrieving strategy and recurring emotional displays on court had led observers to question if his skill to perform at the elite level was over.
Yet the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and play assertively, reinforced by an improved serving game.
He recovered from a disadvantage in the first set against the challenging Frenchman, securing 4 of the last five games to go ahead.
The competitors exchanged service breaks in the middle set before the Frenchman, attempting for his first tour title, gained dominance to push for a final set.
He saved 4 initial chances in a tight final set before the Russian won the break to fifteen to secure the win.
Fittingly, Medvedev secured victory with a rally at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to handle a return after two hours and 38 minutes.
