The Popular Show Campaign 4 Introduces the Soldiers Party

Ever since the premiere of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a thrilling plot showcasing angels, evil spirits, and malevolent powers growing in influence within Dol-Makjar.

Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 are included.

The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled

The latest chapter concluded with a huge suspense moment and presented the first table of heroes who will branch out from the main group to begin their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam Riegel), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).

Dividing the Cast

Considering a large ensemble, it was evident from the start that having everyone at one table would be unworkable.

That’s why, the first four episodes of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the personal journeys before branching into three separate parties: Soldiers, Schemers, and Seekers.

What Defines the Soldiers Table

As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven narrative style where diplomatic options are scarce.

At first glance, figures such as the squeamish cleric Wicander might seem unsuited, but the events of the third episode make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Motivations for Departure

First, the party knows exactly where to head next after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.

Casimir of the deceased character—whose passing kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the secret base, assaulting the character, and stealing all the enchanted items to dispose of.

Casimir then settled his obligations and escaped to a Halovar stronghouse in the remote area, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd pursuing him.

Character Drivers

Additionally, each character has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:

  • Thimble, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, wants vengeance.
  • Kattigan knows Timmony and warns that it is a hostile environment.
  • The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to kill the target and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
  • Yet, their position as important members in the influential clan could assist the team enter areas they normally couldn’t.
  • Additionally, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that rule the setting for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:

  • Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
  • The warrior and Wicander betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
  • Teor is marked for death by the family.

This leaves them no alternative but to journey toward Timmony in quest for the traitor.

Future Episodes

Based on the latest episode’s Cooldown, we find out that the Soldiers table will not appear next week, leaving the other eight players to round up the Explorers and Strategists tables.

Viewers can look forward to learning which adventurers will be in which group in the season’s last Overture episode, streaming live on next week.
