Two more people have been arrested in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was arrested in the Lambeth area for suspected robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was detained on suspicion of conspiring to commit a robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

The arrests follow a probe into an assault at the multi-storey car park at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. A total of five individuals were taken to the hospital for medical care and have since been discharged.

Officers detained a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries while inquiries continue.

Police were called at approximately 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several individuals hurt by an irritating chemical believed to be an irritant spray.

The attack - which authorities stated was isolated and not considered an act of terror - caused train delays and the temporary shutdown of the main airport tunnel and the Terminal 3 car park for a short time.
